“red goes green” for World Sustainability Day

Sustainability is a global mission, and at Aalberts integrated piping systems, we’re excited to be at the forefront, driven by the dedication of our incredible team.

This year, we introduced our “red goes green” sustainability challenge to discover the impactful steps our employees are already taking—and the results have been truly motivating.

Spanning ten days, the challenge invited employees to embrace sustainable practices in their daily routines. This campaign, which engaged participants across the Americas and EMEA/APAC regions, was designed to promote small but meaningful actions for a greener future, underlining our commitment to sustainability as an essential element of our culture and operations.

The campaign was truly worldwide, with participants from the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, the Middle East, the Netherlands, Sweden, the U.K., China, and Taiwan. The “red goes green” challenge included 23 specific action items across five major categories: recycling, home living, cooking and diet, consumer choices, and transportation. At the challenge’s close, employees shared insights into their sustainable habits. The outcomes were uplifting, showing broad support for sustainable practices on a global scale.

Among popular activities, 43% of participants opted to walk or bike short distances to cut down their carbon footprint, and 34% reduced food waste by using leftovers. Recycling also gained traction, with 31% adopting reusable coffee mugs and water bottles, while 25% made use of mixed recycling bins. The campaign encouraged greater awareness of everyday habits that foster a sustainable lifestyle, from unplugging unused devices to researching eco-friendly alternatives.

While the 2024 “red goes green” initiative has concluded, our commitment to sustainability remains unwavering. We aim to build on this progress, affirming that sustainability is not a one-time goal but an ongoing responsibility.
