Sustainable Development Goals and what we celebrate on 25th September

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 goals set by the United Nations to be achieved by 2030. They serve as tool to focus global action and improve the quality of life for all. They include targets like zero poverty and zero hunger as well as ambitions towards quality education and protecting life below water and on land.

Did you know that in 2025, over 80% of IPS EMEA & APAC revenue contributed to SDGs 6 & 7?

Our parent company, Aalberts N.V. is an official signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, joined by over 25,000 companies in 160 countries who are committed to making business a force for good and helping to achieve the SDGs. We do this though the products we make, contributing to clean water and sanitation (SDG 6) as well as affordable and clean energy (SDG 7).

We do not stop there. We know that we also need to run our operations efficiently and sustainably. This is why we align our sustainability strategy to SDG 9 – Industry Innovation and infrastructure as well as SDG 12 – responsible consumption and production. We are proud to manufacture locally, close to our customers and developing new innovative products while reducing waste.

We encourage our employees to embrace the SDGs and contribute in their own way, both at work and at home. Many already think about sustainability on a daily basis – most common reported actions included turning off the lights and machines when not in use, donating to a charity and preventing waste by using up food leftovers and recycling.

To honour our commitment, we are celebrating the world SDG Flag Day on September 25^th and raising the SDG flags at our factories and offices to raise awareness and inspire further action.
